Now definitely open! Posted hours are 9am until 15 mins after sunset. Entry is free amd there are unisex toilets but no soap or toilet paper, so go prepared! Clearly renovated recently and several la… Full review by Mark M

I was there in April and yes it was closed. Even more annoying, they also closed the promenade so you could not walk out to get the view of the city. We ended up going to Castillo de Santa Katarina, very close, which was nice and had some good art exhibitions.

Not at the castle itself. We didn't explore the area around it so can't help. Sorry
