We are thinking of flying to Durban in July and visiting our friends there before going to Krugers Park. They offered that instead of taking a flight north to use their car and drive. What do I need to know about such a trip? Would it be safe? Would you recommend to do it?

If you have the chance to visit the Kruger, don’t hesitate.
We are visiting Kruger National Park in April. Should we bring fly nets (worn over face, under hat)? We recently went to Uluru and the fly nets were life changing!

You're supposed to keep the windows of your car closed all the time, however, if you are hiring the local transport with open windows, it might help.

I recommend you just check with the lodge beforehand. So yes, conservation fees still apply and goes for a good cause.
