Is there an option to just buy tickets to the observation deck/sky deck? I'm not too interested in the art museum so purchasing the 1800 bundle deal isn't really for me.

I don't think they allow tripods. A mono-pod is acceptable. I recommend getting there before dark and the dusk photos will be amazing. I am a photographer so I as also interested in the long exposure/nighttime photos. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Other places of interest nearby to take stunning photos of the city... Tokyo Tower (it's a bit crowded) Oregon Bar in Ginza (It's in the City Centre building) Tokyo Midtown My favorite is Oregon Bar, they let you take some great photos but the drawback is you probably need to eat at least an appetizer and a drink. You can buy your tickets there. I've been there twice and had bought the tickets on the spot. There are several counters, even if there is a queue, it moves fast.
