Zoo is not well maintained. Water for animals is dirty. Animal’s fur is also really dirty. The reptile room is too dark to see anything. Full review by GoPlaces08729982459

Yes! You will be near several places to eat, Anthony's is great for Italian, Burger King, McDonald's. there is an awesome place called FLOTZIE's and several picnic tables there. They have the world's best ice cream for a wonderful treat after lunch!!! All of these places will be across Bypass 211 from the Petting Zoo... Walmart and Food Lion is there too! I do not know if the Zoo has picnic tables but I doubt they do.

There is a portion of the zoo where you can feed and pet some sheep and goats. If you are interested in interactions with more of the animals the after hours guided tour with the owners is great. I don't think they recommend this for visitors with small children though.
