The Aaliyah doll has been released as a part of the Barbie Music Collector Series, which has included collectible dolls of Stevie Nicks, Gloria Estefan, David Bowie and Tina Turner, among others.

The limited Aaliyah Barbie doll by Mattel Creations immediately sold out. The doll should also be available through Target for the one-day sale.

Aaliyah is now a Barbie girl. The late Detroit R&B singer, who died in 2001 at the age of 22, has been immortalized in Barbie form. Toymaker Mattel introduced the Aaliyah Barbie Thursday, on what would have marked the singer's 46th birthday.

Rashad Haughton, the late singer’s brother, tells TODAY.com the "message" he hopes people get from the new Aaliyah Barbie doll.

"We made sure to make the doll as accurate as we possibly could,” Rashad Haughton, Aaliyah’s brother, tells Vanity Fair.

Mattel, the powerhouse behind the iconic Barbie doll, released a special edition Barbie to commemorate Aaliyah's birthday.

Aaliyah has been officially immortalized in a Barbie doll for what would’ve been her 46th birthday. The doll is part of the Barbie Music Collector Series. Inspired by her “ One In A Million ” music video, the doll is wearing a black faux leather ensemble with studded details, oversized sunglasses and her signature hairstyle.

Priced at $55, this limited-edition doll was made available exclusively on Mattel Creations’ official website and was initially offered to members of the brand’s Barbie Club
