Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin missed Tuesday’s home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with an upper-body injury.

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin has been labeled as a “game-time decision” for Thursday’s game against the Edmonton Oilers at PPG Paints Arena. Coach Mike Sullivan declared Malkin’s status during an optional morning skate in Cranberry.

The Pittsburgh Penguins were dealt another blow on Sunday as forward Michael Bunting was ruled out of their 5–2 home loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning following a car accident outside PPG Paints Arena.

Sullivan also said Sunday that Malkin’s linemate Michael Bunting was involved in a car accident outside of PPG Paints Arena before the game. Sullivan said Bunting is OK, but he did not play against Tampa Bay. Bunting has 13 goals and 12 assists in 43 games this season.

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin will not play in Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators at PPG Paints Arena. Coach Mike Sullivan announced Malkin’s status approximately two hours before the opening faceoff.
