HENDERSON, Nev. — Pete Carroll was announced Saturday as Las Vegas' new coach, with the Raiders hoping that even as the oldest head coach in the NFL the 73-year-old will provide stability for an organization badly lacking it.

“In the NFL, though, Carroll has had the upper hand over Harbaugh (6-5), especially in their most recent battles,” Moton wrote. “Though the Chargers are coming off a year in which they clinched a playoff berth with an 11-6 record, Harbaugh probably isn't thrilled to see Carroll back in his conference and division.”

Pete Carroll and the Raiders have reached an agreement on a three-year deal with a fourth-year team option to be the team's new head coach, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
