More record heat is forecast on Wednesday across the entire southern United States, from Las Vegas to Raleigh, North Carolina, forecasts show. In the West, atmospheric rivers are continuing to inundate Northern California with heavy rain and flood threats on Tuesday.

After another warm afternoon in the low 80s, lows will only cool to the mid 60s tonight. Aside from a stray shower, most of the Gulf Coast will stay dry. Out the door on Wednesday morning, patchy fog development will be possible. Highs will bounce back to the low to mid 80s.

In the foothills, Golden is forecast to break its record high for Feb. 3 by more than 10 degrees, National Weather Service forecasters said.

A few records may fall on Monday, with a warm start to the workweek and mostly sunny skies over the Front Range in the Denver weather forecast.
