Outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced retaliatory tariffs of 25 percent on C$30 billion of US goods, with plans to potentially target an additional C$125 billion worth of American products following a public consultation period.

Justin Trudeau announced some of the 25% tariffs against the U.S. would begin on Tuesday in response to Donald Trump's punishing tariffs on Canadian goods.

Even as Canada’s prime minister announced more than $100 billion in retaliatory tariffs, he made clear that he was imposing them reluctantly.
