The U.S. military is providing facilities at Buckley Space Force Base in Colorado for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to process detained migrants. That's according to a spokesperson for the U.

The U.S. military said on Tuesday it will allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement to detain migrants at Buckley Space Force Base in Colorado, further widening the Pentagon's role in President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown.

U.S. Northern Command began providing facilities at Buckley Space Force Base at the request of the Department of Homeland Security on Monday for immigration operations.

The facility will be used by ICE as a temporary operations center, staging area and a temporary holding location as the agency begins raids across the nation.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will use Buckley Space Force Base facilities to process and temporarily house detained immigrants, military officials confirmed to Denver7 on Tuesday.

The former Air Force base is “providing facilities” for staging and detention at the request of the Department of Homeland Security.

The Buckley Space Force Base in the Denver area will be used for immigration operations, according a U.S. Northern Command spokesperson. ICE and Department of Homeland Security staff will be involved in the operation.
