Anthony Weaver, who spent the 2024 NFL season as Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator, interviewed this week with the Chicago Bears and New Orleans Saints.

On a day where coaches find out the fate of their coaching future, others get to begin the process of potentially landing a head coaching job.

After a 5-12, last-place season that included 10 consecutive losses and the in-season firings of coach Matt Eberflus and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, the Chicago Bears are now embarking on a search to hire the franchise’s next head coach.

Carroll’s strength is in culture-building, but greatest NFL accomplishment is Wilson. That’s of critical importance to the Bears, who need to find a head coach who can develop both the franchise and its quarterback, Caleb Williams.

Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver may be exactly what the Chicago Bears are looking for. Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that

You can tell when he walks into a room, he just commands respect,’ Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said of defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. ‘I highly recommend him for anyone. He’s a tremendous human being and football coach.

Coach Weaver is a leader of men and you could see that in how he conducts himself and if you ask anybody in the defensive room, he’ll tell you the same,” safety Jevon Holland said.

Miami’s defensive coordinator had previously interviewed for head coaching vacancies before taking the job with the Dolphins last offseason.
