President Trump's Jan. 23 executive order creates a crypto task force to craft rules and study a national reserve or stockpile of digital assets.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday that would possibly create a national digital asset stockpile for the first time along with promoting the advancement of cryptocurrencies.

The executive order directs the government to propose a regulatory framework and explore the creation of a digital asset stockpile.

Until, of course, in 2013 the Silk Road was shut down by FBI agents and Mr Ulbricht, then 29 years old, was arrested in the science-fiction section of a San Francisco public library. In 2015, after a four-week trial,

"Donald Trump is a man of his word," the Silk Road founder said in a video published on X hours after release from prison.

Ulbricht was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole nearly a decade ago. President Donald Trump pardoned Ross Ulbricht, the creator of the drug marketplace Silk Road who is revered by many cryptocurrency enthusiasts and Libertarians.
