Google and Samsung’s digital leash will let parents set app limits and track their kid's whereabouts over LTE.

Samsung and Google are introducing a new Wear OS software experience called "Galaxy Watch for Kids" that's designed to make the Galaxy Watch 7 LTE (and presumably future wearables) safe and fun for children to use.

Samsung has launched a new Galaxy Watch for Kids experience on the Galaxy Watch 7 LTE, with kid-friendly watch faces, apps, and controls.

With a new Galaxy Watch for Kids mode, children can use the smartwatch to call and text trusted contacts, while parents can also track their kids’ locations via GPS. The option starts rolling out today and will work on Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T networks.

The kid-friendly Fitbit Ace LTE wasn’t Google’s only vision for how Wear OS could work on a kid’s wrist. Today, Google and Samsung have teamed up to launch the Galaxy Watch for Kids experience on the Galaxy Watch 7.

Samsung in partnership with Google has introduced Galaxy Watch for Kids, a new smartwatch experience for the Galaxy Watch7 LTE that allows children to stay connected and learn while on the go. Powered by Wear OS, the watch offers a variety of features that make it a safe and fun way for kids to use a smartwatch.

An optional mode for the LTE version of the Watch 7, parents will be able to set up the watch on their own phone and monitor activity while the watch itself gets new games and watch faces.
