A spectator was killed Sunday at a high school track meet on the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs campus after an athlete's hammer reportedly went out of bounds.

An accident during a club sports track and field meet in Colorado Springs resulted in the death of an audience member after he was struck by a hammer used in the hammer throw event. According to a release from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs,
