Dec 4, 2024 · Stew beef or chuck roast cut in chunks, about 4 potatoes peeled and diced, I use baby carrots, onions, beef broth, tomato paste, bay leaves, thyme, salt and pepper, I also use the McCormicks Beef Stew packet to help thicken it up. I also brown my beef with some flour and olive oil. Serve with nice, warm biscuits.

Oct 3, 2019 · I like a basic pot roast. A good cut of chuck, braise it in olive oil, add a half packet of Lipton onion/mushroom dry soup mix, cover with water and simmer for a few hours. Check the water level, don't let it boil off. About a half hour before it's done, add the 'taters, onion and carrots. Use the broth to make a really good gravy.

Takes a few minutes to get it up to temp, so did something else while I was waiting. 45 minutes later I remembered it was on the stove, now in a full rolling boil. So, I've got boiled game hen.

Oct 21, 2024 · I prefer the profile roasting gives the veggies, as opposed to a crockpot or boiling. Actually, I avoid all veggies in the crockpot. Even when I make a roast in the crockpot, the carrots and potatoes get roasted in the oven, or I make mashed potatoes. Crock pot just makes it all too mushy and flavorless to me.
